Agency Region 10 (Region 10)-administered Superfund site located in Western Oregon, is a likely significant source of mercury contamination in sediments and fish tissue in the streams draining the mine site and in Cottage Grove Lake (CGL), a flood control reservoir located 10 miles downstream from the mine. Available site data from mine site, potentially impacted streams and CGL were assembled into a comprehensive conceptual site model (CSM) which then served as the basis for the development of an optimized approach for addressing remaining remedial investigation (RI) data gaps in preparation for the site feasibility study.
