Background/Objectives. Shallow groundwater occurring at 30 ft bgs beneath a former industrial manufacturing facility was impacted by chlorinated solvents, including PCE at approximately 2,000 μg/L. Vadose-zone soils were being excavated to address VOC-soil and soil-gas impacts. The selected groundwater pilot study approach involved in situ soil mixing of ZVI from the 30-ft deep excavation bottom. The treatment footprint was 100 feet by 100 feet.
