This study examines the effects of adding activated carbon on the bioavailability of the chlorinated pesticides chlordane (measured as cis-chlordane, transchlordane, and trans-nonachlor), dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDT) and its metabolites dichlorodiphenyldichloroethane (DDD), dichlorodiphenyldichloroethylene (DDE), and dichlorodiphenylmonochloroethylene (DDMU) in contaminated sediments from an industrial site in California, USA in a pilot-scale field deployment.
