The rp-process occurs in a hot hydrogen-rich stellar environment. Its trajectorypasses through the most proton-rich nuclides in the periodic table. It has long been thought tobe responsible for synthesizing at least the light p-process nuclides. Thus these nuclides canprovide signatures for r-process nucleosynthesis. Difficulties with various rp-processscenarios often focus on ~(92,94)Moand ~(96,98)Rup-nuclides,astheir anomalously large abundancesare difficult to produce in any model of nucleosynthesis. However, it now appears that theymight be produced in the rp-process resulting from accretion onto a neutron star. If the rp-process does synthesize these nuclides, β-delayed proton emission might well resolve some ofthe difficulties made evident by the model calculations.
