With an object based video coding method, e.g. MPEG-4, a visual scene can be presented by composition of multiple video objects, and in distribution via network, multiple video object bitstreams are transmitted simultaneously. In transmission via erroneous network such as the Internet, error resilience without delay is necessary for composition of these objects keeping synchronization. This paper presents a novel error resilience method, KRPS (Keyframe Reference Picture Selection) for multiple video objects distribution. In this method, the distribution sever receives ACK signals from multiple clients, and dynamically controls reference picture. In order to recover from error state at all clients, the server selects a particular frame, keyframe, which has the capability of changing reference picture. From computer simulation, it is proved that KRPS can achieve high error resilience with keeping high coding efficiency.
