NEUTRON RADIOGRAPHY STUDIES OF THE INTERACTION BETWEEN HYDROGENOUS SUBSTANCES AND COMBUSTION GENERATED POROUS CARBON MATERIALS
Carbon is considered one of the major species contributing to pollution from combustion. There is therefore a strong demand for clean energy technology solutions. One way to achieve these solutions is to increase the hydrogen content in the fuel utilizing hydrogen and methane gas. These fuels usually require high-pressure storage in tanks that can create safety problems in e.g. automotive transportation. Therefore, one looks for possibilities to store at reduced pressures while maintaining a high fuel density. Porous carbon materials have recently reached a high level of interest as absorbents in tanks.
