Coal fly ash(CFA)derived materials have become popular with recent advances and expanding range of applications, particularly as a low-cost and easy-processing adsorbent for wastewater treatment and gas purification~(1-3).Among these applications, perpetual interest has been in utilisation of CFA derived composite materials that contain metal and metal oxide nanoparticles for removal of heavy metals from wastewater4.We herein focus on exploring the use of locally available CFA and its derivative composite containing Ag nanoparticles(NPs)for removal of mercury(II)from wastewater.
