Introduction Small amounts of acetylene presented in ethylene resulted from thermal cracking of oil compounds are known as an undesired impurity in the ethylene-based polymerization reactions [1]. As a well-known issue, Pd-based catalysts are recognized to selectively hydrogenate acetylene to ethylene [2]. To decrease ethane production and formation of oligomers (green oil) over Pd sites during acetylene hydrogenation, some promoters are preferred. Tin promoter is usually used in dehydrogenation reactions; however, there are some reports on its application in hydrogenation reaction as well [3-4].
