摘要

Aircraft brakes made of carbon fibers and pitch based carbon matrix have excellent frictional properties, wear resistance and low sensitivity of properties to moisture. The production process for carbon brakes includes hot pressing of preform made of chopped carbon fibers and powder of coal tar pitch followed by carbonization and impregnationpyrolysis cycles. The strength of fiber-matrix interface has extreme importance for wear resistance of brakes. Influence of pyrolysis in the range of temperatures 2000-2800°C on wetting behavior of several types of carbon fibers in pitch based liquids was investigated.
