Epidemiological investigations of head blight of wheat

Head blight or scab caused by Fusarium species has been reported in most of the humid wheat growing areas in the world. It causes acute shrivelling of seeds and thus affecting yield as well as quality of seeds resulting in blighted seedlings when sown. Results of studies on prevalence of different Fusarium species causing the disease in Punjab, India, assessment of losses, temperature and humidity requirement for disease development are reported here.
