Whitefly-transmitted geminiviruses (WTG) are characterized by the geminate shape and the size (30nm x 20nm) of their particle, by their circular single stranded DNA genome, and by being transmitted in the persistent manner by Bemisia tabaci. In recent years, WTG are spreading worldwide, and are emerging as serious crop threat. In China, WTG were reported in Guangxi Province, but the antigenic and genomic variation was not well studied. Here we reported the antigenic and genomic variation of tobacco geminiviruses isolated in Yunnan, China.
