Heat transfer fundamentals and their applications to wire manufacturing processes

摘要

Heat fransfer plays an improtant role in the manufacture of ferrous and nonferrous wire. A review of the fundamentals of heat transfer and its application to the various stages in the manufacture of copper and steel wire will be highlighted in this paper. Two examples of process analysis and imprvement based on heat transfer analysis are presented. It is concluded that eficient utilization of heat transfer analysis is an invaluable tool in the optimization of manufacturing process parameters, imprvement of product quality and extension of equipment life.
