FEM analysis of wire breaks in drawing of superfine wire with an inclusion

摘要

An analysis of the wire breaks of a fine copper wire containing an inclusion using #OMEGA# finite element method has been performed. The efect of the inclusion size on the wire breaks has been investigated. This study predicts that the frequency of wire breaks increases with increasing inclusion diameter D_i/D_o>0.4.
