A new method for testing refractories for resistant to corundum attack

摘要

There are several methods available for testing the resistance to corrosion of refractories by molten aluminum. These methods have however some limitations regarding their ability to reproduce corundum growth, such as encountered at the metal line in aluminum treatment furnaces, independently of the nature of the tested refractory material. This paper presents a new testing procedure which permit to overcome these limitations.
