Reduction of auxiliary losses -The next major challenge

Modern low loss platforms which achieve 3 Litres per 100Km Fuel Consumption open a new design challenge for vehicle developers - reducing auxiliary losses. This comes about because at 120Km/Hr propulsion losses account for 3.3Kw but auxiliarylosses could be 6Kw. The object of this paper is to identity the sources of the losses and suggest what might be done to reduce them.
