The electrical traction Systems of electric and hybrid vehicles must be highly energy efficient to obtain acceptable performance within limited energy storage capabilities of the battery. In the search for an energy optimised design, simulationplays an essential role in determining the energy requirements of a particular vehicle, in the estimation of the power4rain loss and performance, and in assessing the implications of a particular choice of component or control method.
