Four year practice of 90t Fuchs SSF steelmaking at Jiangsu Shagang in China

Jiangsu shagang Group, the famous farmers owned collective steel enterprise in China is located at Zhangjiagang, a newly established small city in Jiangsu province, east of China. It is at the downstream of Youngtzi River near Shanghai in the so called "Suzhou, Wuxi and Changzhou golden triangle". It is also an important foreign trade harbor, providing good transportation facilities for Shagang. The first single shaft furnace in China and Asia was started in the late September 1995 at Ruenzhong Steel plant of Shagang Group Ltd. The single production line of the plant consists of a 90t SSF, a ladle furnace, both designed and manufactured by Fuchs Systemetechnic, Germany, a 6 strand billet caster from Concast, Switzerland, a Davy reheat furnace and a Morgan torsion-free high speed wire rod mill both made in USA. The capacity for steel production of this single production line was designed to 670 X 10~3 tons/a.
