We report a high-efficiency organic polymer light-emitting herostructure device (OLED) fabricated on the thin, flexible plastic substrate. The device consists of a hole transporting (amine-fluorene) and an emissive (benzothiadiazole-fluorene conjugated polymer layers. The heterostructure device shows a green light emission peaked at ~570 nm, a high luminance (>2,000 to 13,000 cd/m~2), a good emission efficiency (~56 to 66 cd/A), a high luminance (8.96 to 18.3 lm/W) and external quantum efficiencies (~14.8 to 16.2%). This OLED on plastic substrate has the highest external quantum efficiencies ever reported in the open literature.
