Statistical Analysis of Common Channel Signalling System No.7 Traffic

This paper reports on a statistical analysis of Common Channel Signalling System no. 7 traffic. We found that the probability density function of all ISUP message arrivals associated with the call set-up are approximately Poisson, except for that of the subsequent address messages (SAM). The composite probability density function of message signal unit arrivals can be well described by the convolution of two gamma functions.
