The carbohydrates on glycoproteins, such as monoclonal antibodies, may result m an enormous loss of effectiveness, e.g. increased clearance from bloodstream, or induce an immune response if used for therapy [1, 2, 3]. Therefore, a sensitive glycosylation analysis for product control of glycoproteins is needed. Furthermore, the glycosylation control during the production process may favour specification of harvest batches [4, 5]. To meet these requirements, we have chosen an simple to perform yet powerful glycosylation analysis technique. This method combines in- gel enzymatic digestion of the glycoprotein and the Fluorophore Assisted Carbohydrate Electrophoresis (FACE~(TM)).
