EVALUATION OF THE USE OF DRAXXIN VET~R TO ELIMINATE MYCOPLASMA HYOPNEUMONIAE AND ACTINOBACILLUS PLEUROPNEUMONIAE SEROTYPE 6 12

摘要

Elimination of Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae (M hyo) and Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae (Ap) from pig herds has been attempted in different ways and with the use of various antibiotics (1,2, 3). The combination of a modified "Swiss partial depopulation model" and treatment with tulathromycin lOOmg/ ml (Draxxin Vet.) for injection was used in this study in a Danish herd, to investigate whether tulathromycin could be an effective alternative to, for instance, quinolones. The success criterion of this studywas the elimination of M Hyo and Ap 6 and Apl2, confirmed by serologic examinations and resulting in the upgrading of the farm's SPF health status according to Danish SPF standards.
