Evaluation of upper extremity repetitive strain during meat deboning operation

The aim of the project is to develop a simple method of job evaluation for detecting the risk of cumulative trauma disorders (CTDs). The preliminary study referred to 'deboners', i.e. workers removing bones from hams in a meat processing plant. The incidence and severity of the musculoskeletal disorders in deboners and the results of the 'boning' operation analysis indicate that this job is performed in the manner which enhances repetitive strain injuries in workers.
