New Roles for Humans in Free Flight

摘要

Humans are central to the operation of modern air traffic management systems. Free flight will require controllers to use significant strategic management skills in addition to their more familiar tactical aircraft separation functions. Thisnecessitates rethinking controller selection and training processes. Some guidance for such training comes from an understanding of free flight, man/machine interactions and psychology.
