Polymeric materials have to be moulded, injected or extruded at high temperature to get their final form. Internal release agents are added to the formulations in order to easily extract the object from the mould or to avoid sticking to the tool. These constituents are introduced in the bulk material, and they are migrating to the surface during the process where they should be eliminated in the final step. However, it has been observed for bulk moulded compounds that they remain present at the surface. It has been shown that the subsequent adhesive properties and their evolution with ageing are affected by the residual release agent present at the surface.
