Functional adaptability of muti-chamber vacuum roll coater architecture for single and multi-process implementation

A decade ago, Aerre introduced the multi-chamber vacuum roll coater for aluminum metalization of packaging films. The architecture of this multi-chamber metalizer permitted much better observation of the product during the process and maintenance of low pressure in the evaporation chamber with higher pressures in the unwind and rewind chambers. In addition, the aluminum oven assembly was placed on a tram which withdrew from the evaporation chamber permitting easy access to the wire and crucibles for quick turn around.
