The Fiarchild Dornier Germany Corporation is currently developing the jet powered version of the regional aircraft Dornier 328. It is based on the turboprop version of the Dornier 328. The reliability objective of the braking system is increased by the change of propulsion. This requires some major modifications to the system which are correlated with a financial investement. Therefore it is essential to determine the influence of system components on the reliability of the braking system. In the design phase of the Dornier 328 JET the software tool SyRelAn 1.0 for Windows was tested by Fiarchild-Doriner for reliability assessment and detection of improvement potentials.
