摘要

A mixed finite element method of Boussinesq equations is developed and some numerical results, for the two-dimensional natural convection in a square cavity with differentially heated side walls, are presented. In this method, the gradient of the velocity and the gradient of the temperature, quantities of practical importance, are introduced as new unknowns. In order to reduce the computational effort a hybrid form of the mixed finite element method is used for the implementation.
