Framed steel houses became more and more attractive in the recent years.they are characterised by a good-price-quality ratio and,very important,they can be built very quickly.In a country like Romania,in which there is a big demand for housing,steel framed houses could be a very good solution.The problem is that Romania is a severe seismic therritory,and such structures have to fulfil specific design criteria.Both sheeting diaphragm effect and different bracing systems are studied in order to analyse the stability and seismic ULS and SLS of steel framed houses.The results of the study presented by the authors are in connection with a "pilot project" for a two-storey steel framed house.
