Case-based aided design on the web

摘要

The Internet technology has evolved very rapidly over the past few years. Due to its multimedia capability, the World Wide Web is the most popular and visible component of the Internet. It is being increasingly used to support various activities of the product development process. This paper is concerned with providing Case-based Motor Aided Design System (CBMAD) on the Internet. A project is conducted to show that a web-based CBR in design that is functionally equivalent to its version on a standalone workstation. However, the web-based version is found to be more attractive for modern manufacturing. The web architecture is found to be attractive for collaborative design and Intelligent CAD.
