THE DEVELOPMENT AND APPLICATION OF TYPE III STRONG BASE ANION EXCHANGE RESINS (PUROLITE A-555)

Purolite A-555 is a novel type of strong base anion exchange resin that has a combination of properties which offers unique performance under certain conditions. In comparison with Type-II resins, its special functional group based on N-propanolamine, enhances thermal stability, and silica removal in water treatment processes, while preserving good regenerability to the hydroxide form. It has also been found to be less susceptible to silica fouling as the resin type ages. In comparison with Type-I resins it offers improved operating capacity, and greater resistance to organic fouling, while offering good performance in terms of silica removal. It offers improved thermal stability, more stable rinse characteristics and superior handing of waters with high silica to total anions ratio.
