For purpose of evaluation on safety of man-made structure such as dam, tunnel and under-ground cavern and natural structure such as slope and cliff in civil engineering, rock monitoring is carried out to catch behavior of rock mass. Displacement survey is usually implemented. Various instruments and apparatus have been made for this purpose so far. There are many demerits with these methods, which make it preferable for a new method to appear. Photogrammetry displays many attributes. The potential of high accuracy coupled with its fast, reliable, flexible and economical attributes has attracted growing recognition to date, to the point where the method becomes a incomparable measurement tool in many fields. In this paper, an application of the photogrammetry system for rock displacement survey in a cliff is reported. In Susami cliff, rock displacement is surveyed with the phtogrammetry technique. Features of the measurement operations are discussed and the result is analyzed.
