The use of controlled slurry fill with a lightweight component, such as foam or EPS, is gaining popularity as a solidifed fill for quay walls in the seismic-prone areas. The aims to use slurry fill are to reduce the earth pressure behind the retaining structures and to reduce the risk of liquefaction. In addition, savings are expected due to elimination of compaction and reduction in construction time. This paper presents the analysis of cone penetration tests using regionalized variable theory to map isostrength contours of an engineered fill composed of low quality dredged soil obtained from sea bed, air foam and portland cement.
