Analysis of PAHs and metabolites during treatment of contaminated soil.

Heavily contaminated gasworks soil was treated in a pilot-scale bioslurry reactor. Samples were taken and analyzed for more than 30 PAHs and several alkylated and heterocyclic PAHs in order to monitor the degradation process. In addition, some PAH-ketons and PAH-quinones were analyzed as possible degradation products. The total concentration of the monitored contaminants in the soil was reduced to 50
