Soil and water remediation around the warehouse in Borne Sulinowo

摘要

In this paper, an in situ method for soil and water environment purification within a chemical storage area is presented. The chemical storage area is located in Borne Sulinowo and was used by Soviet Union military troops between 1945 to 1992. This region had been contaminated with polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), organic chlorine compounds, aliphatic derivatives of phthalates, etc. In this area, aliphatic derivatives of phosphoric acid were found which indicates the possible contamination of this area with toxic warfare agents. Results after 6 months of remediation have been presented.
