A cross-chords algorithm for evaluating roundness errors is proposed in the paper, at the same time, mathematical models and formulas as well as the steps to calculate the centers of reference circles in high accuracy are showed. Three reference circles(Maximum inscribed circle-MIC, Minimum zone reference circle-MZC, and Minimum circumscribed circle-MCC) for evaluating roundness errors can be calculated by the formulas deduced in the paper after several times
