摘要

A polycrystalline alpha-alumina matrixcomposite fiber containing nano-sized YAG particleswas prepared by sol-gel method. An alpha alumina matrixcomposite fiber with fine and homogeneousmicrostructure could be successfully fabricated byincorporating nano-sized VAG particles and addingalpha alumina seed particles. YAG particles werehomogeneously dispersed within the matrix grain as wellas at grain boundaries. The effects of seed particlesand YAG on crystallization and microstructure of thecomposite fiber were discussed.
