As a kind of energetic materials, most of the Pyrotechnic used in fireworks and crackers have heat sensitivity. Explosion accidents caused by the thermal decomposition are very common. This paper studied thermal decomposition process of pyrotechnic by DTA, established MATLAB numerical based on program of Kissinger method, and processed the DTA data. The results show using this approach can effectively get the apparent activation energy E and pre-exponential factor A of the pyrotechnic, and it can also determine the chemical reaction heat Q of thetypical pyrotechnic by peak area surrounded by DTA curve.
