摘要

The feasibility of employing piezolelctric composite materials as sensors for load monitoring and damage detection in composite structures has been studied. Polymer based piezoelectric composites have been fabricated and embedded in fiber reinforced composite structures. In this paper the response of the embedded sensors to cyclic and impact loading as well as their response to elastic waves generated in composite plates will be presented and discussed.
