This paper developed a new type of three dimensional inner microfin tube (the 3-D tube). Through the experiment and analysis, the flow patterns for the horizontal condensing heat transfer inside a 3-D tube are divided into annular flow, stratified flow and intermittent flow. The flow patterns criteria are given in this paper also. The analysis and calculating correlation of the local condensing heat transfer coefficient for stratified flow inside a 3-D tube have been obtained. The calculated results with the correlation consistent with the experiment data within +-30
