A series of NiCuZn ferrites doped with different content of MnO_2 were prepared from nano-sized particles synthesized by using a novel sol-gel auto-combustion technique. The effects of MnO_2 on the microstructures and electromagnetic properties were investigated. All samples have fine-grained microstructures, and the grain-size is largely dependent on Mn content. The initial permeability of NiCuZn ferrites is significantly increased through MnO_2 doping, while the electrical resistivity and quality factor are slightly decreased.
