摘要

The recently developed Successive Self-Nucleation/Annealing (SSA) technique has been used to characterize different polyolefin types. Several ethylene/α-olefin copolymers were studied by SSA and the results compared with the analogous Step Crystallization method (SC). The SSA technique can provide a qualitative insight into the chain branching distribution of a polyolefin copolymer with better resolution than SC and in a much simpler and faster way than Temperature Rising Elution Fractionation (TREF). The influence of several experimental variables on the results that can be obtained by SSA are reported in this work. The ability of the SSA technique to induce molecular segregation during crystallization and annealing proved to be very useful to characterize functionalized polyolefins.
