In the design of process analyzer sampling systems, much attention is usually spent in the selection of the major system components, such as pumps, flowmeters, filters and temperature and pressure regulators; however, valves and tube fittings mayaccount for significant component costs and occupy a large portion of valuable sampling system space. Recent developments in valve designs and modifications of standard valves to meet special sample system needs have resulted in reduced costs and spacerequirements and improved reliability of sampling Systems.Features of the newly designed valves and valve modifications, and how they are applied in analyzer sampling systems, are discussed in this paper.
