In this paper we propose a framework for analyzing interference adaptation dynamic channel allocation schemes. The framework is based on two novel ocncepts, namely extended cell and extended channel reuse zone. As its direct application, an asymptotic performance bound for forward link IA-DCA schemes is derived with a lognormal shadowing propagation model. The performance bound is then compared with the bound obtained for the deterministic propagation model. The comparison shows that, in forward link case, the lognormal shadowing has more effect on co-channel interference than on signal, andthat IA-DCA algorithms can take advantage of shadowing to achieve further camating the maximum Erlang capacity of FDMA/TDMA system with IA-DCA is also discussed.
