Study of chosen parameter of the combustion process of vegetable fuel in transient conditions

For the last years a lot of investigations have been carried out with rapeseed oil as a fuel for diesel engines. These investigations converned steady state work conditions. The results of the indication of diesel AD3.152 in transient conditions have been presented in this paper. The tested engine was fuelled with rape oil - diesel oil mixtures. The physical-chemical properties of used fuels have been presented. Tests were made at three dynamic pumping start angle values: 15deg, 23deg and 6degOWK also for fuel mixtures containing 0percent, 20percent, 40percent, 60percent, 80percent and 100percent of rape oil. Transient work conditions were modelled by free running engine acceleration caused by the changes of injection pump control lever position. The influence of advance angle value and mixture compositon on pressure rise in transient conditions was analysed. An up-to-date measure system was used in investigations. It made it possible to measure simultaneously the rotational speed of the engine crank-shaft, the combustion chamber pressure, the pressure before the injector, the injector needle life, with the measurement frequency of 500kHz in each measurement channel.
