Simulation of business processes optimizing the flow from incoming orders to outgoing goods

Today's competition in the automotive industry is characterized by an increasing number of stratetic alliances between companies due to growing globalization. Therefore the planning of processes, which cross the boundaries of cooperating companies (e.g. supply chains), becomes more complex. Philosophies like "just-in-Time" and minimized inventory require that the cooperation, especially with respect to the logistic chain, has to be planned much more customeroriented. This customer orientation has several effects on the planning of the whole manufacturing process and the logistic chain. Especially in the surrounding filed of the automotive industry companies have to plan not only their own resources, they also have to consider other companies involved in the supply chain. Consequently a complex chain of procurement proceses takes place which has to be designed effectively at minimum costs.
