An introduction to the afternoon open endedpanel and audience discussion of the regulatory andenvironmental climate on both the domestic and theinternational scenes will be presented. We will be discussingthe subjects which are undergoing major (and in some casesfrenetic) change such as the recent enforcement actionregarding the classification of our industry's products as"Hazardous Waste" as well as those areas which have becomemore quiescent such as that of circuit boards, chopped or not.Finally, the prospects for legislation or diplomatic actionsconcerning our industry from U.S. Superfund to the loomingBasel Convention international equivalent will be assessed.
