In this paper we present the results of a study on the effect of CaCl_2 injection in the kiln on quality of the clinker and cement. To achieve this, chemical and microstructural analysis were performed on clinker as well as physical tests on cement. This study shows that CaCl_2 addition, result in an important decrease in alkali concentration in the clinker. The thermal energy consumption required to clinkerize raw meal decreases also with CaCl_2 addition. The compressive strengths of cement produced with CaCl_2 is significantly improved.
