A therapy apparatus with rotating high magnetic field was invented in order that a standard magnetic field can be used for experiment. Its main technical specifications are: field intensity of magnet, 6000 Gauss; top surface diameter of rotating magnet, /spl Phi/540 mm; effective working surface diameter of rotating magnetic field, /spl Phi/500 mm; power, single phase AC 220 V or three phase, AC 380 V 0.75 kilowatt; noise, /spl les/55 dB; rotating speed of magnet body, 0-720 R/M; overall dimensions; 2100/spl times/840/spl times/760 mm; total weight, 650 Kg. New Zealand rabbits and voluntary patients were treated with the WD-HMF 6000 magnetic therapy apparatus and their plasma beta-endorphin was determined by RIA. The present investigation aimed at studying the influence of magnetic field on neuroendocrine. The results showed that magnetic field made plasma beta endorphin of rabbits and patients increase significantly. It may be a theoretical basis for magnetic analgesia.
