Porosity is a common feature of many materials. The pores are very desirable in catalysts, filters, membranes, adsorbents, etc. The knowledge of the specific surface area, pore size, roughness of the pore-solid interface is of the prime importance. On the whole the structure of the most porous materials is quite complex. In last two decade the characterization of porous materials made a milestone progress owing to the use of fractal geometry.
