Reviewing the results of the completed small scale pilot testwork and the results of industrial scale pilot testwork to date, the following are important points: 1. The target yield and CV established during small scale pilot testwork were achieved and exceeded during industrial scale pilot testwork. 2. When relating yield and CV to particle size, small scale and industrial scale pilot testwork results were similar. 3. The reagent dosage required to achieve the target yield and CV was very similar for small scale and industrial scale pilot testwork. The above 3 points show clearly that scale-up from the 160 mm diameter column to the 4 m diameter column was successful.
